Berwick's a mix — plenty of homes from the 90s and early 2000s sitting alongside newer estate builds, and it's usually the older render jobs calling us out, not the new ones. This was a straightforward recoat: existing render on a house that had done its job for fifteen-odd years and was starting to show it. Patching cracks before a recoat isn't optional, even though it's tempting to skip on a tight budget — render laid over an unrepaired hairline crack just telegraphs the same crack back through within a year or two. Once the base was sound, two coats went on to build it back up properly, finished with a texture and colour coat that took the whole house from tired to looking close to new. It's the kind of job that doesn't ask "who's the best renderer in Melbourne" so much as answer it — solid prep, done right the first time, on a house that'll now go another decade or more before it needs touching again.
